Super Micro Computer Issues December Quarter Warning
Super Micro Computer (SMCI) late Monday warned that its results for the fiscal second quarter ended December 31 would be short of previous guidance.
The company, which sells specialized servers, now sees revenue for the quarter of $127 million to $129 million, below its previous forecast range of $140 million to $150 million. Super Micro now expects to report non-GAAP profits of 15-16 cents a share, below its original guidance of 18-22 cents.
Super Micro said that the lower guidance reflects “the severe general economic conditions experienced during the quarter which has delayed buying decisions of customers as they seek better visibility into IT spending trends for servers and storage.”
The company also said it is “taking the necessary steps to control costs during this period of uncertainty.”
