Microsoft, Yahoo Finalize Search Pact; Still See Closing In Early 2010

Yahoo (YHOO) and Microsoft (MSFT) late today said they have “finalized and executed” a definitive “Search and Advertising Services and Sales Agreement and License Agreement,” (which I really think we should start calling the SASSALA), following the letter of intent they announced in July.
The companies said they “remain hopeful” that the deal will close in early 2010.

Yahoo To Expand Facebook Integration

Yahoo (YHOO) this morning announced plans for expanded integration with Facebook.
The deal will integrate the Facebook Connect service across Yahoo, allowing people to see their Facebook streams on Yahoo’s e-mail, Flickr, news, sports and finance sites. Starting sometime in the 2010 first half, people using both Yahoo and Facebook will be able to share updates across both networks. The deal extends the current arrangement between the two companies, which allows Facebook users to access their news streams and update their status from the Yahoo home page, enables Facebook to access Yahoo contacts and providers “share on Facebook” options across the Yahoo sites.
YHOO today is up 26 cents, or 1.7%, to $15.39.

AOL: Weak Debut; RBC Starts With Sector Perform

AOL (AOL.wi) is off to a slow start in its return to the public market.
While AOL’s spin-off from Time-Warner (TWX) won’t be completed until next month, AOL shares have begun trading on the NYSE in when-issued trading. You have to hunt a bit to find quotes on the issue; neither Google Finance or Yahoo Finance seem to have them, but you can get trading info from the NYSE web site.
