Well I can come up with all kinds of scenarios in which ‘long term investors’ and ‘buy and holders’ who didn’t have stops in place got crushed. Look no further than most bank stocks these days. Bank of America is still down over 80% off of its highs. Not to mention all the ones that have gone to zero.
