self-evident — Go read “Reasons Not to Sell Stocks Now” (h/t alea).  There, feel better? No, wait.  That is from Monday, when the Dow closed at a heady 9955. Here is the thing.  Everything in that article is conventional “intelligent” wisdom derived from watching the last 80 years of market behavior.  Buy when there’s blood in the streets; you haven’t lost anything until you sell; and so on and so forth.
