The Clueless Q Trader — ... One of the "really" depressing items, is that we have quite a ways to go before we can even think about being close to an over sold basis (of course, maybe we hit it today, hahaha), and even if we get "there", we can still get another leg down in the markets, as evidenced at the March lows. The big Kahuna, the NYSE, looks almost exactly the same. http://www.indexindicators.com/ ...

Saturday Night (Eeeeeeerrr, Sunday Morning)
The Clueless Q Trader — ... This is actually 9am MT Sunday morning now, I'm to lazy to start another post. Anyway, you can see that we are "there", IE, the number of stocks in the NYSE above their 200 day MA is at 14.34%. Some of the other's are even worse, the S&P has only 13.05%, and the NasDogs only 7.07% (I have no idea why any of those Dogs would be over their 200MA, hahaha), you can get this info at http://www.indexindicators.com/ . Now personally, this don't mean diddly squat to me, but, we have "always" bounced when we've reached these kind of over sold levels, which says to me, there's always ...

Pre-market 10/23/08
The Clueless Q Trader — ... I'm looking at the percentage of stocks in the S&P 500 above their 10 day moving average, from http://www.indexindicators.com/ . You can use what ever MA you want, 5, 20 etc etc. The point is, at least to ME, when you look at the prior three temporary bottoms the last year, the number of stocks above the MA reach's their low zenith prior to the bottom, IE they dump them and the momentum carries the index into the depths of hell. What then happens, is that the percentage of stocks above their MA starts to rise, in each case BEFORE the index reached the bottom, in this case ...
